In April 2011, the Philippine Volcanoes, our National Men's 15s Rugby Team played 2 test matches against Hong Kong's National team. I shot both matches with a Canon 5D Mark II and a 70-200 lens. Against a friend's advice, I shot without a monopod thinking I would have enough rest in between since the 80-minute matches were 2 days apart. Naturally, I was wrong and I ended up busting my right shoulder. I couldn't lift anything with my right arm, I couldn't rotate my shoulder and I was in a good amount of pain. But I'm not a photographer. I'm a pool player. Shooting Rugby is something I do once in a while to support the Philippine Rugby Football Union. Playing pool is something I do every week. Not being able to lift my cue and move my shoulder meant staying home from pool on weekends. The sports doctor I saw also advised me not to sit at the computer at night after work. So this left me with quite an amount of free time and room for a new hobby.
