Star Wars Series
Patterns by Lucy Ravenscar
I started making this set in April of 2011. It was the first set of patterns I purchased. I really enjoyed making these and they were quite popular with my male friends! Lucy's designs were so well made and they turned out looking really close the actual characters.
As I learned more about crochet, I started to make little changes to the patterns to make some of them taller and used felt fabric to add certain details. I still enjoy making these dolls and I'm a fan of the designer. I hope to continue purchasing her patters as she makes more Star Wars characters. Nowadays it takes me only a little over a couple of hours to make one. But I'm holding off on making Yoda until I find a way to make his eyes look like the character's.

On a dare, I made a version of Wicket on a hang glider. I made the frame with BBQ sticks. I heated them so they'd bend and I used a glue gun to put them all together. Then I wrapped the joints with strips of felt to cover the glue. To make the sails, I dyed some cheese cloth with coffee to turn it brown and burned some of the edges. Then I stitched the sails to the sticks with yarn. |
