D.I.Y. Stitch Counters!

I read my patterns from digital PDFs rather than print outs.  At some point I realized I needed a way to remember where I was in my project in case I had to put it down or continue the next day.  At first I was pinning little pieces of paper to my crochet projects indicating the last row I worked on.  Then I thought of stitch counters!
You can make your own stitch counters using beading materials.  You can find all these parts at any notions store like Carolina's Lace Shoppe in Glorietta 1, MarketMarket! or SM Megamall.  They have all sorts of neat little things that you can use for sewing projects, beading and even decorating your crochet dolls.
I used earring hooks because they were easy to attach to stitches.  I put a ball pin through the square bead, stopped it with a bead cap, put the pin through the earring hook loop and then bent the pin back into the square bead with a pair of pliers.  Finally, with a marker I wrote numbers on the wooden square beads.
